The costume has a biblical hint to it, but was set in non-specific period and location.

Indian Bollywood style. India is a country where people mix their traditonal costume with modern western clothes. Thus, Olivia's family uses traditional indian attire while Orsino's side has a modern style infusion to it.

Dorothy's journey begins in a "dark circus". Munchkin land, specifically, was "the circus" where Professor Marvel was the circus regin leader, and the munchkins as circus performers. Therefore, the apple trees grew caramelized apples, and the "jazzy crows" ate popcorn. After all, the world is a circus!

The narrator is a 4th grader telling the story as he colors through his cloring book. The set are all white scenic pieces with black outlines, and all the fairy tale characters wear costumes with no pattern but chunks of colors.
